We arrived at our Swiss Star apartment in the Langstrasse area after a 10 minute walk from Zurich HB, the city's main train station. Little did we know, but the Swiss have their own power socket, not the same as the European one. Like their currency (CHF - Swiss Franc), the Swiss hold their independence in many other ways. Luckily in our apartment, we have one euro plug socket but not all euro adapters fit! Very puzzling. Our street, Dienerstrasse, is relatively quiet during the day but there are many bars around, including one on the ground floor of our apartment building.
It is quite humid, around 24 degrees with a short but very wet and noisy thunderstorm this evening. At 8pm it is still very light and looks around 4pm. We have a need for sleep after a long flight so curtains will be drawn while the day continues outside!
